Scott Hamilton, the lead pastor, has a heart for people. He's open, honest, and often emotional in his messages and his interactions with people show his love for them. He leads the church with integrity, grace, and a desire to seek God.
It's certainly not the only church around and probably not the most polished, but you will connect with God at Foundation. It's an honest, Christ-centered, Bible believing church where people worship God, follow Jesus, and minister to the lost.
Finally, this church has a heart for the surrounding community. Executive Pastor Brian Shepard has spearheaded a ministry that is dedicated to ending poverty in community. Foundation Church is following its biblical mandate to serve the poor and lost people who need help and who need a savior. They are committed to actually getting their hands dirty in service to the community.
Foundation Church expects its members to serve. We all have gifts and talents and it's important that we give of ourselves and not just take and take. Serving at the church also strengthens our connections with other Christians and gives members a sense of ownership in what's going on. If you just want to come and not serve, that's an option. But you will be encouraged to get involved and do something.
Great experience, great music and singing.
Very nice, made me feel welcome and not putting on a fake front and pretending. One of the few churches I felt truly welcomed and wanted.
This is a Baptist church theologically. It's also a part of the Southern Baptist Convention. Find out the Southern Baptists beliefs and you will know the beliefs of the church. However, there are all types of Christ-followers who worship and grow at Foundation Church. People aren't judged for their backgrounds.
The style of the church is more modern than many. You'll see drums, electric guitars, pastors in jeans, and some lights on the stage. The songs are usually newer and the references to culture are relevant. You won't see much liturgy and tradition is not highly valued. But the truth of the gospel, the inerrancy of the Bible, and the importance of Christ today is taught and preached.
This is home! You won't find a more welcoming church. This is where I have and continue to grow in my walk with Christ.
It's important to connect at a church and Foundation does that through LifeGroups. They are groups where anyone is invited to "do life together" with other believers in the church. In a LifeGroup, you will meet at someone's house, eat and fellowship with other believers, learn about God, and be able to share how your life is going. You will connect with other Christians so that you're not just living for God alone, but your values and goals are shared and understood. When I started going to this church, I didn't know anyone. Now most of my friends are in my LifeGroup.
The family is valued in this church. The ministries to children and youth are intentional and meaningful and the church leadership cares a lot about the young people at Foundation Church. There is also a culture of encouraging parents to disciple their children and youth at home. They believe that it's not just the church's responsibility to teach and minister to kids, it also falls on the parents.
Foundation Church is a place where God is worshipped and Jesus Christ is preached. Like all churches, it's not perfect. It's a church made of people who are also flawed, but who have a desire to connect and serve the one true living God.
